In February, the New Brunswick Extra-Mural Program requested the help of the Rotary Club of Bathurst in the COVID 19 vaccine project. This vaccines were administered to residents and staff at seniors residences and special care homes in the Chaleur area.
Our official title was Authorized Vaccine Receiver, fancy term for vaccine babysitter. Our role was to keep the vaccines, located in cooler bags, at a certain temperature and to ensure the vaccines didn’t get jostled. Rotarians doing this task cuts down on the workload of medical staff.
