During our past Dawn to Dusk Food Drive, we had received such a heartwarming thank you note that we thought we should share it with everyone.

Here is the excerpt we would like to share:

Everything is greatly appreciated and in the name of those who wished to tell you “Thank You”, I’m doing it for them!  Specially at this moment in time when people are losing their job, a Food Bank might be the only solution to put food on the table for their family.

Also, Thank You very much to all of those who have given today or in the past.

This letter says exactly what we wanted to say to all of you: thank you for your support during our food drive, and as well during our other events.  It all makes a difference!

The Portraits of Honour national tour stopped in Bathurst last week, and local Rotarians were on hand to support this great initiative. This tour consists of a mural that stretches 10 feet tall by 40 feet wide and features the faces of the 155 Canadian soliders, sailors and aircrew who have lost their lives in Afghanistan, including that of Chief Warrant Officer Robert Girouard, originally from Bathurst.

For more information, visit the Portraits of Honour website.

On Saturday, October 29, 2011, Rotarians showed their community spirit by organizing the Dawn to Dusk Food drive in partnership with Max 104.9. Over 400 bags of food were collected and over $100 in cash donations were received. It is evident that generosity is alive and well in Bathurst .  The food collected was donated back to the Petit-Rocher, Beresfod and Bathurst areas.
