“New Rotary Van 2005” …. retro

It’s hard to believe that the “New Rotary Van 2005” is now almost eight (8) years old! Shown here are photos of the “new van”, in October 2005. Bathurst citizens with disabilities have enjoyed the benefits of using the Rotary Venture Van over the years. Rotary continues to save for a “new van”, and wishes to thank it’s many contributors to the Rotary Fundraising Functions which permit us to provide this valuable community service. Shown in the photos are: Clarence Bastarache (Venture Van Board Member), Frederic Lefrancois (past Rotary President), Keith Assaff (Rotarian and Venture Van Board Member), Marcel Lavigne (Venture Van Driver).

The Rotary Club of Bathurst presents Elvis Greatest Hits by Thane Dunn & the Cadillac Kings

In a unique fundraising activity, the Bathurst Rotary Club will be presenting Thane Dunn & Cadillac Kings at the K.C. Irving Regional Centre on November 17th. Tickets are available at the K.C. Irving Centre and Billeterie Accès.

Thane Dunn is an “International World Grand Champion Elvis recreator”, and has sold out shows throughout the country and the world. Find out more about Thane here.

Stephen Lewis will be our featured speaker during our 75th Anniversary celebration of Rotary in Bathurst. In preparation for this event, we’ll be posting a few videos from this talented speaker to give you an idea of what’s coming up.

Bathurst Rotary Club’s 75 Anniversary Celebrations featuring Stephen Lewis

To celebrate the founding of the Rotary Club of Bathurst 75 years ago, the club will be putting on a special presentation featuring one the world’s most influential speakers, Stephen Lewis.

The event will take place at the Gwendolyn Kent Auditorium at Bathurst High School on June 6, 2012 at 7:00 p.m.

Tickets are 40$ for Adults and 20$ for students.

Tickets can be purchased at the Royal Bank, 230 Main street, Bathurst or from local Rotarians. You can also reserve your tickets by e-mailing erika@bathurstrotary.ca.

Dawn to Dusk Food Drive: the results

Rotarians and Max 104.9 staff at the Dawn to Dusk Food Drive

The Dawn to Dusk Food Drive was a great success. The Bathurst Rotary Club with Max 104.9 and the Bathurst Youth Centre collected over 700 bags of food and 1 000$ in donations for the Bathurst Volunteer Centre.

This food drive came at an opportune time for the Volunteer Centre, as heating bills cause their demand to increase. We encourage everyone to contribute regularly.

The Food Drive was also a great day of fellowship for the Club and its friends and families (despite the cold)!

We hope to see all of you again next year (or sooner!)

The Bathurst Rotary Club had temporarily changed their usual meeting location to spend some time learning about the Port of Belledune, a very important operation for the region.
