OTTAWA Adventure in Citizenship Program

Every year, the Bathurst Rotary Clubs selects one student to participate in the Adventure in Citizenship program. Alternating between BHS and ESN, students prepare a speech relating to citizenship in Canada. The selected student then goes to Ottawa to present the speech and visit the capital city with other students from around the country. The Rotary Club of Bathurst covers the cost of the flight and registration fees for their selected student.

Over 12 000$ Raised in Radio Auction

Last weekend, the Rotary Club of Bathurst helds its annual Radio Auction. Broadcast on MAX 104.9, the Radio Auction raises funds every year for various causes. This year, profits go to the Ideal Center.

Rotarians and Interact members keeping the books up to date.

Over the past two months, Rotarians canvassed local businesses for products to place into the auction. A list is published online and in the newspapers. Bidders call in to our multiple phone lines. This year, despite the economic environment, the total value of the prizes in the Auction was at its highest ever.

This year, we are proud to say that the Radio Auction has raised over 12 000$.

Bathurst Rotary Radio Auction 2009 Update

The Bathurst Rotary Radio Auction is fast approaching. Already, over 15 000$ in prizes has been collected, with many more to come. We are well on our way to surpassing last year’s total merchandise value!

An ad will be found in this week’s paper to notify the public that the list of items will be published the following week. Besides in the newspapers, the list will also be found in the Super Sac, as well as online.

NOTE TO ROTARIANS: Your participation will be needed the day of the auction, on November 22nd. Please leave your name with Gilles Deveaux.
