District hands out Governor’s Citations at AGM

Rotary Club of Bathurst helps with Covid 19 vaccine rollout

In February, the New Brunswick Extra-Mural Program requested the help of the Rotary Club of Bathurst in the COVID 19 vaccine project. This vaccines were administered to residents and staff at seniors residences and special care homes in the Chaleur area.

Our official title was Authorized Vaccine Receiver, fancy term for vaccine babysitter. Our role was to keep the vaccines, located in cooler bags, at a certain temperature and to ensure the vaccines didn’t get jostled. Rotarians doing this task cuts down on the workload of medical staff.

Bathurst Rotary Club teams up with the Kinsmen and Richelieu Clubs to help the Bathurst Food Bank for the holidays

The Bathurst Rotary, Kinsmen and Richelieu Clubs have teamed up to help the Bathurst Food Bank this Christmas. In the Spirit of Community Cooperation, the three local service clubs have stepped up to pay for all the Christmas Turkeys that the Bathurst Food Bank will be distributing to needy families this year.

The three clubs have been looking at ways that we can pool our resources to help the community,” said Bathurst Kinsman Club President Brad White. “Helping the Bathurst Food Bank at Christmas was an easy decision.”

“We may be different groups, with different members, but at the end of the day we all share the same goal of helping our communities,” said Bathurst Richelieu Club President Roger Sénéchal. “Working together we can do so much more.”

“The holidays can be such a special time for families,” said Rotary Club of Bathurst President Peter Assaff. “Unfortunately, some families face more challenges than others. We just wanted to do our part to ensure those in need have a little something special for the holidays.”

En ces temps festifs, le Club Richelieu Bathurst se joint aux clubs Rotary et Kinsmen pour soutenir la Banque alimentaire de Bathurst. Dans un élan de collaboration, les trois clubs de services locaux ont décidé d’acheter toutes les dindes qui seront distribuées à Noël par l’entremise de la Banque alimentaire de Bathurst.

« Nous cherchions une façon de mettre en commun les ressources des trois clubs pour aider la communauté, déclare le président du Club Kinsmen, Brad White. Il nous a été facile d’opter pour le soutien à la banque alimentaire à l’occasion des fêtes. »

Selon le président du Club Richelieu Bathurst, Roger Sénéchal, « Bien que nos groupes et nos activités diffèrent, cela ne nous empêche pas, à Noël, de viser l’objectif commun d’aider notre communauté. De plus, notre collaboration augmente la portée de notre action. »

« Le temps des fêtes réjouit beaucoup les familles, estime pour sa part le président du Club Rotary de Bathurst, Peter Assaff. Beaucoup d’entre elles ont cependant la vie difficile, et nous voulons faire notre part pour les égayer. »

Bathurst Rotary Club awards scholarships
