Message from the Rotary International President 2013 – 2014

There’s a lot that’s different about Rotary today.  But the foundation that Rotary is built on hasn’t changed.  Rotary is based, as it’s always been, on our core values: service, fellowship, diversity, integrity and leadership.
The Four Way test:
1. Is it the TRUTH?
2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
Everyone of us in Rotary is here because we were invited, and because we made a choice to accept that invitation, to get involved and to make a difference.
In the 2013-14 Rotary year, our theme and my challenge to you, will be ENGAGE ROTARY, CHANGE LIVES.
You’ve chosen to wear the Rotary pin.  The rest is up to you
Ron D. Burton
2013-14 RI President

It’s hard to believe that the “New Rotary Van 2005” is now almost eight (8) years old!  Shown here are photos of the “new van”, in October 2005.  Bathurst citizens with disabilities have enjoyed the benefits of using the Rotary Venture Van over the years.  Rotary continues to save for a “new van”, and wishes to thank it’s many contributors to the Rotary Fundraising Functions which permit us to provide this valuable community service.  Shown in the photos are:  Clarence Bastarache (Venture Van Board Member), Frederic Lefrancois (past Rotary President), Keith Assaff (Rotarian and Venture Van Board Member), Marcel Lavigne (Venture Van Driver).

Saturday, November 17, 2012 will go down as a memorable evening for Elvis fans in Bathurst and surrounding areas.  Not only were Elvis fans entertained by Thane Dunn and the Cadillac Kings, but the evening’s proceeds will go towards the purchase of a new Rotary Venture Van serving those in need of transportation, in and around the Bathurst region.  A huge thank-you to the performers, to local businesses that contributed in any capacity to the event, to Rotarians who worked hard at preparing for the evening and working behind the scenes, and to Elvis fans young and old who attended.
