Autumn is a busy time for Bathurst Rotary

The Max 104.9 / Bathurst Rotary Dawn til Dusk Food Drive on October 30 was a huge success. More details to follow. Thank-you to all who volunteered, participated, donated.

November 24 is the 11th Annual Radio Auction. Teamed with Max 104.9, Bathurst Rotarians are gathering prizes / items / certificates / donations to be auctioned off. A preliminary list will be posted in the Northern Light and on our website on November 12. A complete list will be posted on November 19. Items can be given to any Bathurst Rotarian. This is a great advertising tool for local companies and a great support to Rotary Initiatives.

December 21 is the Celebration on Ice Show. We’ve received tremendous local support for advertising and sponsorship. Thank-you to all who have participated in the organizing and sponsorship. Please see various posts for contact information if your company would like to be involved in sponsorship. Group ticket purchases are an excellent Christmas gift for employees.

Rotary Supports the Spirit of Christmas

Dear Rotary Friends: Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I want to let each and every one of you know that your contribution to The Spirit of Christmas will touch the lives of many seniors in so many ways in the Bathurst and surrounding communities. Our committee has already been shopping, speaking with many different community members and schools and making our list and indeed “checking it twice.” We want to make sure that each and every senior who is in need both financially or as a friendly visit to brighten their day will not be overlooked. As the December month draws near I am already recalling the many faces and smiles some of whom have passed on or are now in nursing homes. As our list continues to grow so does the donations and assistance from this small but “oh so mighty City.”

We are also very fortunate to also have the support of Anglophone North Staff and students who are already busy creating handmade cards, decorating, raising food items and volunteering to assist prior to delivery day. It is so important to involve our youth in our community and foster young and upcoming volunteers and ambassadors!

Rotary’s motto, “Service above Self” is true testament to the great things you do and continue to do for others! I look forward to sharing a few stories and photos with you from last year’s event. I will keep you posted on our open house at the Bathurst Education Center in the near future. You need to SEE IT to BELIEVE IT!

Rotary receives $10000 donation to support “Celebration on Ice”

Progressive Conservative MLA for Nepisiguit Ryan Riordon presents a cheque for $10000 to the Bathurst Rotary Club, organizers of the event. It’s time for the 11th Annual Rotary Radio Auction – Sunday Nov 24, 2013 – 2 pm – 6 pm
